About ToolNest

Free online tools that do the work in your browser, not on our servers.

What ToolNest is

ToolNest is a collection of 24 free online tools for everyday file and data work — compressing images, merging PDFs, formatting JSON and more. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no trial period and no upload queue. You open a page, do the job, and close the tab.

The tools are grouped into Business Tools, Image Tools, PDF Tools and Developer Tools.

Why the tools run in your browser

Most online converters work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and giving you a download link. That means a copy of your document sits on someone else's disk, subject to their retention policy and their security practices.

ToolNest takes the other approach. Every tool on this site is built on browser APIs — Canvas for images, pdf-lib for PDFs, plain JavaScript for text and data. Your file is read into memory on your own device, processed there, and handed straight back to you. Nothing is transmitted, so there is nothing for us to store, leak or sell.

The practical upside beyond privacy: tools are fast because there is no round trip, they work on large files without hitting an upload limit, and they keep working on a slow connection.

How ToolNest is funded

ToolNest is free to use and paid for by advertising. We show ads from Google AdSense on tool pages, which covers hosting and development time. We do not sell data, we do not gate features behind a paywall, and we do not add watermarks to pressure you into upgrading.

Ad placements are deliberately kept out of the way of the tool itself. If an ad ever breaks a page or obscures a control, please tell us — we would rather lose the placement than the page.

How the site is built

ToolNest is a statically generated site. Every page is pre-rendered HTML served straight from disk, with the interactive part of each tool loaded as a small client-side bundle. There is no database, no login system and no server-side file handling — which is both why the site is quick and why it has very little of your data to begin with.

What we are working on

The tool list grows steadily. Priority goes to tools people actually search for and to gaps in what already exists here — a converter that pairs with an existing one, or a calculator that answers a question the current set can't.

If a tool you need is missing, tell us. Requests genuinely shape the order things get built in.
