How to get a free Agnes AI API key (takes a minute)
- Open platform.agnes-ai.com and sign up with your email — it's free.
- In the console, go to the API Keys page and create a key. It starts with sk-.
- Copy the key, paste it into the field above, and start editing.
Your key is saved in this browser only (localStorage) and every request — your photo included — goes directly from your device to Agnes AI. ToolNest never receives your key, your images, or your prompts.

- What kinds of edits work best?
- Scene and mood changes: background swaps, relighting, weather, season, art styles, color changes to a specific object. Instruction-based editing preserves composition, so it is the wrong tool for removing or moving subjects — describe transformations of the scene instead.
- Is my photo uploaded to ToolNest?
- No. Your browser converts the photo to Base64 and sends it directly to Agnes AI's API together with your key. ToolNest is a static site with no server, so your image never touches this website.
- Why do I need an API key?
- AI editing needs a real image model running on a server, which cannot live inside a static website. Your own key keeps the usage on your free Agnes quota instead of a shared pool that would be exhausted in minutes.
- Which formats and sizes can I upload?
- JPG, PNG and WebP up to 10 MB — the practical range for photos and web graphics. Output resolution follows the tier you pick, from 1K for quick edits up to 4K for print work.
- Does the original photo leave my device even before I generate?
- No. The photo is only read into your browser's memory and shown as a preview. It is encoded and sent out at the moment you click Apply edit — and then it goes to Agnes AI, not to ToolNest.
