Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have.
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Summary
ToolNest does not upload, store or transmit the files and text you process with our tools — everything happens inside your own browser. We do collect anonymous usage statistics, and we show ads from Google, which uses cookies. This page explains both in detail.
Who we are
This policy covers the website https://toolnest.work and all tools hosted on it. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@toolnest.work.
Your files and tool input
This is the part that matters most, so it comes first: the images, PDFs, text and data you put into our tools are never sent to us.
Each tool is implemented with browser APIs that run on your own device. Your file is read into your browser's memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. No copy travels over the network, we operate no upload endpoint, and we keep no processing logs. When you close or reload the page, the data is gone from memory.
A direct consequence: we cannot recover a file for you, and we cannot see what you were working on if you report a problem. That is by design.
Information we do collect
We collect a limited amount of technical and usage information, none of which identifies you by name:
- Usage analytics — pages viewed, approximate country or region, referring site, device type, browser and operating system, and general interaction events such as which tool page was opened.
- Server and CDN logs — standard web-server entries including IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent, retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention.
- Advertising data — collected by Google as described in the next section.
- Email correspondence — if you write to us, we keep your message and address in order to reply.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not request or store names, passwords, postal addresses or payment details.
Advertising and Google AdSense
ToolNest is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads, and Google is an independent controller of the data it collects through those ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Where required by law, we ask for your consent before advertising and analytics cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Google's own explanation of how it uses data from partner sites is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which tools people use and where pages are slow or confusing. It sets cookies and reports aggregated statistics. We have no interest in individual behaviour and do not try to identify visitors.
If you would rather not be counted, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, decline analytics cookies where the consent prompt is shown, or use any browser tracking-protection feature — none of which affects how the tools work.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies and similar storage on this site fall into three groups:
- Essential — remembering your cookie-consent choice and basic interface preferences. Some tools also use your browser's local storage to keep a setting such as a preferred output format; that stays on your device.
- Analytics — set by Google Analytics to measure traffic.
- Advertising — set by Google and its advertising partners to select and measure ads.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them will not stop the tools from working, since the tools do not depend on cookies.
Legal bases and your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website for server logs. You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@toolnest.work and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
Data retention and security
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' configured retention period. Email correspondence is kept while a conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
The site is served over HTTPS, and because tool input never leaves your device, the most sensitive category of data simply never reaches our infrastructure.
Children
ToolNest is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
